Movie

To compare two similar movies in order to see the structural similarities in the story line....

Movie 1:

Across the Universe

Movie 2 :

Empire Records

1. Equilibrium

Before running away to America, Jude worked in the shipping yards and had a girlfriend called Molly

Before Lucas stole money he works in a record store

2. Disturbance

He comes to America and finds out his dad is just a Janitor

Lucas loses $9,000 to the pokies in Atlantic City

3. Protagonist

Max takes him under his wing and they move to New York

Mark tries to fix the problem by putting on a concert to raise money

4. Plan

To stay in New York to be with Lucy (the new girl)

To put Lucas in jail

5. Obstacle

Max gets sent to war

Mitch (the owner) comes to visit and wants the money

6. Complications

Lucy starts working for Parco an anti-war protester and never sees Jude anymore

Joe loves Lucas to much as a son to send him to jail, the others try and help so he doesn’t get sent away

7. Timeout

They run away with some hippies and get high off LSD and end up in the middle of nowhere

AJ tells Corey he loves her. Jeana sleeps with Rex Manning (music star) and Mark gets high from brownies.

8. Crisis

The war gets worse, riots heighten

Joe comes face to face with Mitch (the owner) about the money being stolen

9. Climax

A riot leads to Jude being sent back to London

Joe quits, Mitch offers the record company and takes the money that they others raised as payment.

10. Resolution

Max comes back from War, Jude comes back to London legally to find Lucy

They all have their jobs, put on a music show at the record store and Corey and AJ fall in love

I chose two different movies and the story line cannot be matched, things work out in the end and there is a love story but Empire Records doesn't focus on love where Across the Universe does.

Idea.

So last night i finally came up with an idea.
I was tossing around the idea of something i am interested in, Zombies of course being the focus on many stories written and just something that pops to my mind when a mobile game needs to be born.

Idea: Zombies revenge.

So there are millions of games about hunting down zombies as well as there are movies and no im not completely original with this idea however, i believe i can add characteristics of my many loved iPhone games and add it to this one. The basic idea would be having zombies (played by the user) running around different cities, preferably the one that they live in so they are familiar with the city, or to challenge themselves pick on like Japan.
The zombies would be trying to kill all humans (dah) and gain more strength, so these zombies arent the dumb slow ones they would gain strength with the more people they kill, the more strength they get the harder it is for them to die there for being able to concur civilization.
As you move up in levels the more your zombie are multiplies, at each level you will start off just as strong as you left the other level but your new born zombies are just as weak needing for them to eat more brains.
Humans would have different weapons, a bullet can kill in first level, the more you get stronger the more bullets needed.
A baseball bat would probably be a zombies worst nightmare but zombies will have skills like launching themselves onto humans with a flick of the finger (iPhone) and crushing a human before they can attack....

just the basic idea for the moment, more things to be thought about.

1970 - 2010 Games

Before The Atari Pong there was the Magnavox Odyssey. Released in 1972 this was the first video game console. It didn't have any sound unlike Pong, it's graphics weren't considered that amazing and the lack of responsiveness of the controllers wasn't great however being the first digital video console was what it had, that and it ran on batteries.
Both the Atari and Magnavox had variations of their original over the years, further developing in graphics, sound and slowing moving into colour screens. The controllers got more extravagant with steering wheels etc.
In 1978 the most advanced Atari was released allowing its gamers to play three games, the console was in a shape of a triangle and each side had a different game.
The Atari kept on producing bigger and better consoles but while they were doing that competition was arising with the release of Nintendo and Sega. What seems to be the last Atari was the Jaguar CD version which kept up to date with the Nintendo and Sega but only 20,000 were made, so it seems while the Nintendo and Sega kept moving forward in the gaming world. Nintendo is still a popular console today, people still kept it, they’re compatible with our TV’s and the graphics aren’t so bad. There are a few problems with the console being so old getting it started takes a bit of effort other than that playing the old school Mario is still enjoyable.
While Nintendo is still popular there was a production of bigger and better consoles with the release of the Song Playstation and X-box. These consoles can play over thousands of different games that have kids hooked for hours. The graphics are so high that the animated games look so realistic, they put so much detail into each character and each level it keeps people engaged. The Playstation or as we call it now the PS is still in competition today, releasing new versions of itself every few years sometimes only changing the colour. A third came console comes into play with the Wii being released in 2006. This console allows you to be wireless and move your character with free movement. Some games like Mario Cart you have a wireless steering wheel and you move the wheel as if you are actually driving allowing the audience to jump into the game more. Or even the exercise games where the Wii knows where you are standing and how you are moving according to the controller you are holding.
Over the years there has been a huge change from the starting Atari to the Wii and as we consume more the more the gaming system will thrive for better quality including sound and graphics.

Munchkins.

I had seen Munchkins advertised on TV and thought it would be amazing to play, however, when getting started it proved to be most difficult. A game i am sure that would be most entertaining if all the rules were explained to full detail.
Getting started wasn't easy, jumping into the deep end and trying to....I guess in some ways you could state make up our own rules, which failed miserably.
After a while it started to make sense, however i feel, even though the box recommends for 3 years + it would not be appropriate for anyone unless they have the capacity to take in all the different rules and meanings of the cards.
One day i will work out how to play it completely even if it does take me weeks on ends.

Define Fun.

Fun: if you never did, you should. These things are fun, and fun is good. --- Dr. Seuss

Fun to me is writing stories, reading books, listening to music and hanging with friends. Me being one who doesn't play many games, always enjoyed watching others play rather than have control of the game myself. If i were to combine what i consider fun with a game I would have to say Mario in all stages of its gaming life.
Mario not only has a catchy background song that we all grew to love but tells a story of Mario (or Luigi) who battle this unusual world to save the one he loves (or save the king...depending on game).
I am one for a classic and would have to say this is my idea of a fun game thats filled with bright colours and can be watched and played together with friends.
